I've got my job search the way I want it. Now I'm afraid to shut my laptop!
We’ve all found ourselves at the wrong end of the save button on a file. So it’s easy to understand why, now that you have your perfect job search filtered just so, that you’re hesitant to do anything, especially shut down your browser.
But don’t panic. There are a couple of ways to save your job hunt and avoid catastrophe.
LinkedIn's got your back.
LinkedIn automatically saves your job searches so even if you close your job hunt window by accident, you’re covered.(read: Claire has done this before)
To find your Recent job searches, click on the Jobs tab on your top navigation. If the job search you’re looking for is one of the last three you’ve created, it’ll show up in those three most recent searches.
There are three more saved job searches under the Show more button.
You can also have your back.
Have more than 6 job searches that you’re interested in keeping track of? Maybe you want a more centralized way to look at everything you’re doing for the week, including those job searches? (Anyone else see where I’m going with this…?)
After you’ve gotten the job search filtered and set the way you want, grab the URL and embed that into your calendar, planner, organizer, whatever! Those URLs will save the filters and other settings you have in place. It’s that easy.
Wondering where you might get a fabulous and free calendar that someone successfully used to transition out of the classroom? I’m glad you asked.
1. We created a calendar that mapped your job hunting availability and lift potential based on your daily cognitive load.
2. We organized your job needs and wants into an easy-to-understand non-negotiables table so that you can easily weed out career paths, jobs, and companies that aren’t a fit.
3. We unpacked, ad nauseam, LinkedIn’s filtering potentials including some hidden gems.
4. We brought it all back together by making sure that your calendar is your source of truth.
Phew. And we did this all in a couple of weeks.
What's next?
A ton.
